The Northwest District-wide Conferences will be held via Zoom on
Thursday, November 17 at 6:30 pm.
WHAT IS HAPPENING AT THE DISTRICT-WIDE CONFERENCE?

Please join us via Zoom as we celebrate our connection and combined ministries, approval of the business of your local church charge conference*, and receive a message from Bishop Gary Mueller.

The combined District-wide Session of the Charge Conferences of the NW District will consider the Charge Conference forms submitted by local church governing boards as part of their annual Charge Conference Packets and approved by the DS as to be in compliance with the UMC Discipline and ARUMC policy.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

This online gathering of the members of every local church’s Charge Conference is a public meeting open to all. Only those members of the local Church Charge Conference, as defined in ¶246.2-3 of the Book of Discipline in the United Methodist Church may vote in the Charge Conference.
HOW TO PREPARE - ACTIONS TO TAKE PRIOR TO THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17

Local church governing boards meet to recommend Charge Conference Reports for approval at District-wide Charge Conferences.

Read through the Session Rules created for the District-wide Charge Conference. They can be found on the ARUMC.org website. The session rules explain the process of objections to the Consent Calendar that will be used to process the Charge Conference business.

DURING THE CONFERENCE

Use the Session Rules located on the ARUMC.org website. The agenda will be available after it is finalized

The meeting will be held using the Zoom platform. A camera on your computer is not required.
*The combined District-wide Session of the Charge Conferences of the NW District will consider the Charge Conference forms submitted by local church governing boards as part of their annual Charge Conference Packets and approved by the DS as to be in compliance with the UMC Discipline and ARUMC policy.
¶246.2-3: “The membership of the charge conference shall be all members of the church council or other appropriate body, together with retired ordained ministers and retired diaconal ministers who elect to hold their membership in said charge conference and any others as may be designated in the Discipline. If more than one church is on the pastoral charge, all members of each church council shall be members of the charge conference.”
¶246.10: “A joint charge conference for two or more pastoral charges may be held at the same time and place, as the district superintendent may determine.”
¶246.6: “The members present and voting at any duly announced meeting shall constitute a quorum.”
